Liam Gallagher's inspiration to start his own clothing line has been revealed - he was annoyed when bosses of a leading shoe brand changed the design of their desert boots.
The former Oasis singer, now fronting new band Beady Eye, launched his Pretty Green label in 2009, specialising in retro-style trousers, hats, cagoules and t-shirts.
Now Beady Eye guitarist Andy Bell has revealed the reason Gallagher started the brand - his favourite Clarks boots changed in design.
Bell tells British DJ Gary Crowley, "I think he did really well with the desert boots. You know Clarks desert boots? There is no built-up section in the sole. They are just flat, which had been bothering Liam for a while - he couldn't work out why Clarks desert boots weren't the same any more, and it was sort of like an itch he had to scratch.
"I think the desert boots were the reason that Pretty Green started in the first place. So he finally got there, worked it out, and made his own. They are good."
