Michigan/Arizona Primary Results 2012

2 more primaries are out of the way. Last night, the voters of Michigan and Arizona went to the polls to choose their pick for the Republican nominee.

Here is how it went down:

In Arizona....

Romney - 47.3%
Santorum - 26.6%
Gingrich - 16.2%
Ron Paul - 8.4%

So Mitt won by a pretty large margin in Arizona which is not surprising because all of the poll reports I had heard leading up to this state's primary had him with a comfortable lead there. Mr Paul, however, apparently does not have a very big following in The Grand Canyon State.

In Michigan....

Romney - 41.1%
Santorum - 37.9%
Paul - 11.6%
Gingrich - 6.5%

Mitt's lead in his home state was not near as convincing as it was in Arizona. Again, not surprising because all of the poll reports I had heard up until yesterday said it would be a dead heat between him and Santorum. The good thing is that Dr. Paul actually got a higher percentage of the votes than former Speaker Newt Gingrich.

So those are the results. Next week is Super Tuesday!!!! There will be primaries in Georgia, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia and Caucuses in Alaska, Idaho, and North Dakota. See you next week!
