Rush bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee was recently interviewed in Germany by Austria's Stormbringer TV. In the clip above, he explains the inspirations behind the band's upcoming album, Clockwork Angels, including Voltaire's Candide and Joseph Conrad's The Anarchist; the steampunk imagery that fuels the record and how it ties to the music (Lee describes Rush's music as rooted in the past, but adventurous and forward-thinking); the disc's cover art; and much more. It's a nearly 17-minute clip with a lot to absorb, so check it out.
Rush's Clockwork Angels will be available everywhere June 12, but you can pre-order it now in the Roadrunner webstore.
