Superman (1978)
In this Richard Donner directed movie about practically the most popular super hero in comic book culture, Ned plays the henchman to Lex Luthor, Otis.
The scene of his that I will always remember is toward the end when Luthor is talking to Superman about his grand plan to restructure the west coast of the United States and while pointing at his "revised" map points to a town called Otisburg, which is written in crayon on Luthor's carefully constructed map.
Mr. Beatty reprised his role in the 1980 sequel but he was not in the movie for very long.
Back to School (1986)
Ned plays Dean David Martin in this, probably my favorite, Rodney Dangerfield flick about a rich businessman that decides to enroll in college in an effort to keep his son from dropping out.
Another interesting thing about this movie is the unexpected cameo of Kurt Vonnegut Jr as himself.
Charlie Wilsons War (2007)
A really great political film starring Tom Hanks and based on a novel of the same name by George Crile, which was published in 2003. The screenplay was written by Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote The West Wing, A Few Good Men, and The American President, other good political films (ok West Wing wasn't a film but you know what I mean). It also starred Julia Roberts and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Ned plays Congressman Clarence 'Doc' Long (Democrat from Maryland) who at the time controlled the foreign aid budget for the House of Representatives.
Toy Story 3 (2010)
In this 3rd installment of the beloved Toy Story series, Mr. Beatty does the voice of the "villain" Lots O' Huggin' Bear.
Good film. Good cast.
I saw this one in the theater in 3-D with my son. In fact, I think this might have been the first 3-D movie I saw in the theater.
Honorable Mention
Rudy (1993). Beatty plays the title character's father, Daniel Ruettiger, Sr.
