I was interested in this release even before the phrase `Purple vinyl` was mentioned, I still hold Squeeze`s 7" pink vinyl of `Cool For Cats` close to my heart. There`s something ornately satisfying when looking at those glossy enamelled pieces of plastic Pop-Art. Wheels On Fire fit securely between Garage Rock and New Wave, a snug fitting Alternative music machine. Picture `Johnny Ramone` strangely using a host of multiple guitar chords or paisley shirted, guitar based Psych-Pop beating down your door - First hundred copies were draped in purple vinyl splendour, the rest are a finer yet normal shade of black (worth checking what`s still available). People without those newfangled record players need not despair, the four track release is available through the major download sites
